NSW: ICAC to release Tripodi report
SYDNEY, Dec 20 AAP - The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will tomorrow
release its report into claims Speaker John Murray tried to suppress an alleged sexual
assault in parliament house.
Mr Murray is expected to be cleared of any wrongdoing in the affair which allegedly
took place on September 14.
The month-long investigation was launched following allegations that Mr Murray's office
drew up a statutory declaration discrediting the female victim of an alleged sexual assault
by Fairfield MP Joe Tripodi.
Mr Tripodi has denied any wrongdoing in the affair.
Ms Moss held private hearings with key players in the scandal, including Mr Tripodi,
the unnamed female victim of the alleged sexual assault, Mr Murray, his staffer Christian
Gillies, Democrat MP Arthur Chesterfield-Evans and Labor backbencher and Tripodi friend
Cherie Burton.
Its report is to be handed to state parliament at 9.45am (AEDT).
